This is a photograph of my cat, Sophie Socks. It was a lot easier getting photographs of my cat, because she is a house pet she sits around very still and comfortable, so i was experimenting with some of the outcomes. I really like the depth of field in this photograph, it allows her face to stand out, and her eyes to capture all attention in the photograph, I think it is a very beautiful head shot.

Another unusual house pet of mine, is my Male Green Iguana, Noah. He has his own accessible heated vivarium but he also gets a full run of the bedroom. When he is sat out relaxed and cooled down a bit I manage to get some nice still photographs of him. This photograph was taken as he just climbed out of the bath, I really like how soft the colours are in this photograph so i didn't want to enhance anything, I also think this is a stunning head shot.

These Photographs are just two of the selection of insects I photograph. This first image is of my Female Red Knee Tarantula, Bella. I have a lot of photographs of this particular tarantula because she is very timid and easy to handle. The photographs I usually take of her are very sharp and show much unusual detail but I do like these photographs because they look quite abstract.

Within these photographs I have been experimenting with depth of field, you can see the depth of field is opposite in both of these photographs. The second photograph is a Male Indian Scorpion, Harry.  I have a lot of interesting photographs of this particular scorpion where you can clearly see what creature it is, although I feel these kind of images are a lot more thought provoking and I would prefer people to have to concentrate on my photography rather than just glance.

I am going to be adding some photographs into this post of the Macro Lens Photography I have been experimenting with, involving my unusual pets.

I took this photograph of my Female Carpet Python at feeding time. I was trying to get the tongue into this photograph but I was hoping that the main focus of the picture would be towards the snakes eye, I think when shooting Macro Photography the eyes can be one of the most interesting things to capture and throughout my images you will notice this as a recurring theme.

This is a Female Pueblan Milk Snake, her eyes are not as striking as the Carpet Pythons but I think particular image has a lot more feeling to it because of the darkness in the eye and the position. It did take me a long time to find a personality to give this snake in a photograph, I eventually realised that a close up head shot can be just as effective in a black eye, rather than a bright or detailed.
